Cookie policy: no analytics cookies unless you say yes
You decide whether Normdale uses analytics cookies: nothing from Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity loads until you click Accept, and Reject is just as easy. Below is every cookie and browser storage item the site can use, who sets it, why and for how long.
Key points
- Nothing loads before you choose. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and their cookies, load only after you click Accept.
- Reject is as easy as Accept. Both buttons are the same size, side by side. Closing the banner without choosing counts as no.
- Change your mind any time. Use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- Your calculator numbers are never in a cookie. The Payoff Calculator's numbers stay in your browser and aren't sent to any analytics tool.
- No advertising cookies of our own. Normdale runs no ads and has no advertising category.
- Nearly nothing is "essential". Without your OK, the site stores only your cookie choice, and Cloudflare may set a short security cookie.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser so it can recognize the same browser later. Some last only until you close the browser (session cookies); others stay for a set time (persistent cookies). A first-party cookie is set on normdale.com; a third-party cookie is set on another company's domain. Websites can also save small items in your browser's local storage, which works much like a cookie but is never sent to a server.
How Normdale uses cookies
Normdale has two categories, and only two:
- Essential (always on): your cookie choice, saved in your browser, and a security cookie Cloudflare may set in some cases. They aren't used to follow you around the web, and they can't be turned off on the site, because without them the banner would reappear on every page and the site would be easier to attack.
- Analytics (only after you click Accept): Google Analytics 4, to see which pages and actions are used, and Microsoft Clarity, for heatmaps and session replays with the calculator masked. We use them to improve pages, not to advertise.
Visit totals from Cloudflare Web Analytics use no cookies or local storage (Cloudflare, 2026), so they aren't in the table and don't depend on the banner. Google Search Console runs no code on the site.
Every cookie and storage item, in one table
This table was last checked against the live site on October 28, 2026 (before and after Accept, in Chrome).
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | How long | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
normdale-consent (local storage, not a cookie) | Normdale | Remembers your choice ("accepted" or "rejected") and the date you made it, so the banner doesn't ask again on every page | Essential | Until you change your choice or clear your browser's site data | First party |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Helps tell people from bots to protect the site; set only in some cases | Essential | Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity | First party (set by Cloudflare for normdale.com) |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Remembers that your browser passed a Cloudflare security check; set only if a check is shown | Essential | About 30 minutes after you pass a check (Cloudflare's Challenge Passage setting) | First party (set by Cloudflare for normdale.com) |
_ga | Google (Analytics 4) | Distinguishes visitors with a random ID | Analytics (after Accept) | Up to 2 years (Chrome kept it 400 days in our test) | First party |
_ga_<ID> | Google (Analytics 4) | Keeps the state of your current visit | Analytics (after Accept) | Up to 2 years (Chrome kept it 400 days in our test) | First party |
_clck | Microsoft (Clarity) | Keeps the Clarity user ID and preferences for this site | Analytics (after Accept) | 1 year | First party |
_clsk | Microsoft (Clarity) | Joins the pages of one visit into a single replay | Analytics (after Accept) | 1 day (Chrome kept it 24 hours in our test) | First party |
Sources for names and purposes: Google, "Google Analytics cookie usage on websites" (checked October 27, 2026); Microsoft, "Clarity cookies" (checked October 27, 2026); Cloudflare, "Cloudflare cookies" (checked October 27, 2026). Some of these cookies may not appear for every visitor. We have switched off the cookie setting in our Clarity project; in our check on October 28, 2026, Clarity set no cookies on Microsoft's own domains.
How we set up the two analytics tools
- Google Analytics 4: Google signals and advertising features are off, and the property isn't linked to any advertising account. Visit-level data is deleted after 14 months. Events are sent by name only, such as "calculator_started" and "result_shown", with no amounts. Google says Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses.
- Microsoft Clarity: Clarity runs in consent mode, so it sets no cookies until you accept. Clarity masks text typed into form fields on every site, and we also mask the whole Payoff Calculator, its results and its chart. Microsoft keeps replays for 30 days (favorites and a random sample up to 9 months).
Your choices
- The banner. On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. "Accept" and "Reject" are equally easy. Until you choose, nothing from Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity loads. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Reject.
- Cookie settings. The "Cookie settings" button at the bottom of every page opens the same choice again. If you switch from Accept to Reject, the tools stop loading, and we delete the Google Analytics and Clarity cookies set on normdale.com.
- Your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Normdale works fully with every cookie blocked; the banner may simply ask again.
- Google's opt-out. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on every site.
Clicking Accept is your consent to these analytics tools. In Colombia, it is your authorization under Law 1581 of 2012. You can withdraw it at any time, as above.
International transfers
Information collected through these cookies goes to Google and Microsoft, which are based in the United States and process information in many countries, and is used by Diego Franco Media SAS in Colombia. Each provider describes the safeguards it relies on in its own terms; links are in the privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
When we add, remove or change a cookie, we update this page and its effective date before the change goes live. If we add a new tool that needs consent, the banner will ask you again.
